Set in New York City, SWEET AMERIKA is the moving story of Sikh shop owner Balbir “Bobby” Singh (Gulshan Grover), an American Sikh who is kidnapped and tortured by a hateful and misguided gang of hoods who seek reprisals following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Here is what the Critics are saying about Sweet Amerika:

“[Director R. Paul] Dhillon does a great job slicing through language, prejudice, racial stereotyping and outward appearances to get to the emotional heart of the matter and illustrate what hate looks like.”

THE FUSION GENERATION

Screenplay by R. Paul Dhillon

Produced & Directed by R. Paul Dhillon

THE FUSION GENERATION is a romantic comedy about a doting mother desperately seeking a bride for her eldest son but the woman he falls for has no time for the institution!

This funny and sometimes raunchy story is seen through the eyes of its male lead – Jag, known to his friends as J.D. , who agrees to get married to get his mother off his back. While he gets engaged to Neetu, he falls hard for Teejay, a wealthy pioneer daughter of Indo-Canadian Lumber Mogul. But Teejay wants to remain independent without the legal shackles of marriage.

Through a series of mishaps – Jag loses his job, is forced to leave his house and has to re-examine his life. And Teejay has her own problems with her father Sam trying to set her up with a rival lumber mogul’s son as leverage in a merger of the two of the biggest lumber companies in BC.

The two lovers’ follies, heartbreaks and triumphs forms the basis of what is essentially a humorous, colourful, sociological odyssey through a vibrant multicultural landscape.
